Nobuko Japan is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee the company's financial operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting activities, maintain compliance with financial regulations, prepare budgets and financial statements, and support management with strategic financial insights. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced international trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

  • Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and financial transactions.

  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, accounting standards, and statutory regulations.

  • Prepare and file tax returns, VAT/GST reports, and other regulatory submissions as required.

  • Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.

  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.

  • Oversee payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.

  • Collaborate with management to support financial decision-making and business planning.

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff when required.

  • Assist in improving accounting systems, internal controls, and financial processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, or CMA is preferred.

  • Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive, import/export, or trading industry.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and taxation.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in international trade, vehicle import/export, or logistics accounting.

  • Knowledge of foreign currency transactions and international financial reporting.

  • Familiarity with ERP or cloud-based accounting systems.
