The Sr Network Security Engineer will be part of an IT Security team that designs, implements, maintains, troubleshoots and audits the security of our network infrastructure, firewalls, IPS, servers, system-monitoring platforms, Anti-Virus, URL Filtering and PCI environment,  In addition, to maintain the VPN and application delivery system. The Engineer will also be asked to perform penetration tests on external and internal systems, including application penetration tests.


The ability to troubleshoot, at a senior (tier 3/4) level, network/system and security-related issues and manage components in a production environment is critical.
Firewall and IPS troubleshooting, monitoring, deployment and administration  -  25%
VPN troubleshooting, monitoring, deployment and administration  -  15%
URL filtering, monitoring and management  -  15%
Cloud based security related support, monitoring and management  -  10%
Monitoring, correlation and response to system logs and security appliances  -  10%
Audits:  PCI, SOX and internal compliance and regulatory requirements  -  5%
On Call support engineer for corporate IT security infrastructure  -  5%
Risk assessments, vulnerability testing  -  2%
Manage company Security Awareness training  -  2%
Spam and content monitoring and management for O365  -  2%
Anti-virus, malware monitoring and management  -  2%
Security network architecture  -  5%
Other duties as assigned  -  2%

Job Requirements:


10+ years of relevant IT security experience
10+ years of experience troubleshooting network/system related issues and managing components in a production environment - critical
5 - 7 years of firewall administration experience
5+ years of experience with infrastructure engineering using information security and threat & vulnerability products and in the administration, design and implementation of security controls including experience in applying methodologies and principles for all levels of security
3 - 6 years of VPN, logging, authentication and SIEM experience - highly desirable
3 – 5 years of experience with tools like TCPDump, Nessus, Wireshark & Nmap - very important
2 – 6 years of ATP, encryption, compliance IPS and Proxy/URL filtering experience - desirable
2 – 4 years PCI-DSS and compliance experience -  highly desirable
Strong understanding of common computing attack vectors; information, host and network security hardening and requirements; networking protocols; common intrusion techniques; and common risk management concepts
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology or related area; combination of relevant education and work experience considered in lieu of degree
Proven experience in application delivery for advanced traffic management
URL filtering and troubleshooting experience - required
Experience with Windows, Linux and TCP/IP - desirable
Experience with network products and end user support - desirable 
Demonstrated and knowledgeable VPN deployment experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Expert knowledge of firewall management and deployment
Broad and thorough knowledge of security systems and devices
Ability to troubleshoot network/system related issues and effectively manage components in a production environment is critical
Ability to learn new systems and devices quickly
Ability to deploy and manage complex internet and security related infrastructures
Ability to work independently and with a team of peers and other departments
Knowledgeable in penetration testing and vulnerability assessments and remediation
Ability to remain organized at all times and to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources including team members and other internal departments
Ability to make accurate work estimates and deliver project within schedule and budget constraints
Good written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in network traffic analysis; packet analyzing proficiency is desirable
Preferred industry certifications include:  SANS, CISSP, CISA, and PCI-DSS
Willing to work more than 40 hours and some weekends
Willing to do on-call rotation for after hours and weekend support
